BNP leader Aslam put on 7-day remand

RTNN News Desk: A Dhaka court has placed BNP joint secretary general Aslam Chowdhury and his personal assistant Asaduzzaman Mia on a seven-day remand each on charges of plotting with Israel's intelligence agency Mossad.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sharafatuzzaman Ansari passed the order after DB inspector Golam Rabbani produced them before the court with a 10-day remand petition for interrogation on Monday.

Aslam was arrested from Kuril Bishwa Road area in Dhaka on Sunday for his alleged conspiracy against Bangladesh with Israeli spy agency Mossad.

The BNP leader was arrested within hours of imposition of a travel ban on him.

A general diary was filed against them under Section 54 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
