19 July,2016

RTNN News Desk: Awami League General Secretary and Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam has called upon to remain alert to make sure that the incident of 1975 is not repeated.

The minister said this while speaking at a discussion organised by Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council at the Institute of Diploma Engineers in the city on Tuesday.

“I will not give any political speech, but I will say we failed to save the Father of the Nation. We will remain alert to make sure that the incident of 1975 is not repeated”, he said.

“Bangladesh is an example in the world in this regard. On one hand, we’re a brave nation, and we’re a nation of betrayers on the other. So, we need to remain alert. We need mental preparation in this regard”, he said.

Highlighting various steps of the government taken for the welfare of freedom fighters, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq said the allowance for freedom fighters has been increased from Tk 10,000 to Tk 20,000.

Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan, among others, spoke on the occasion held with Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council chairman Major General (retd) Helal Morshed Khan in the chair.
