58 gold bars seized at Shah Amanat

RTNN News Desk: Customs officials seized 58 gold bars weighing about 7kg and worth Tk 3 crore from the luggage of a passenger at Shah Amanat International Airport, Chittagong, on Sunday.


Assistant commissioner of customs at the airport Tapan Chakrabarty said the customs officials during their regular checkup detected the smuggled gold bars inside the luggage of a passenger of the flight, ‘BG-024’, from Dubai that landed at the airport at 10:30am.


The owner of the luggage, M Abdullah, a resident of Dinajuri village in Raozan upazila in the district, was detained by the customs officials.


The officials were preparing to file a case in this connection.
