Review committee submits final pay scale report

RTNN News Desk: The highest salary for public servants has been fixed at Tk 75,000 and the lowest at Tk 8,250.

The committee to review their salaries submitted its final report proposing the pay scale to the finance minister, AMA Muhith, at Bangladesh Secretariat on Wednesday.

The new pay scale in 20 grades for government officials and employees will be effective on 1 July.

The pay commission headed by former governor of Bangladesh Bank Mohammad Farashuddin proposed salaries for public servants in 16 grades. The commission also recommended the highest salary at Tk 80,000 and the lowest at Tk 8,200.

The review committee, led by cabinet secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan submitted the report to the finance minister. The minister shared the report with newsmen after a cabinet committee meeting.
