Budget not realistic : BNP

RTNN News Desk: The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) termed the proposed budget for fiscal year 2015-16 as unreal.

BNP Standing Committee Member Lieutenant General (Retd) Mahbubur Rahman made the comment on Thursday afternoon while talking to media in an instant reaction of the proposed budget.

He said that it was the biggest budget in the history of the country. And it was said that the budget deficit will be filled up by foreign loan, bank loan and others sectors which is not real.

Terming the proposed budget as unreal, BNP leader said that the budget should be based on reality.

He also criticized the scope for whitening black money and said this is not fair. It`s one kind of cheating with people.

On the other hand, Advocate Ahmed Azam Khan, Advisor to the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia said that taking loan from other sectors, budget deficit will be met and as a result the people have to bear the burden of tax.

Earlier, Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Thursday placed before the parliament the annual budget of Tk 295,100 crore for the fiscal 2015-16.

This is the country’s 44th budget where Muhith, who has a record of placing ambitious financial plans, has placed his seventh budget in a row and ninth altogether.
