College teacher hacked in Madaripur

RTNN News Desk: A teacher of Government Nazimuddin College in Madaripur district town has been hacked by miscreants.

The victim is Ripan Chakrabarty, a lecturer in Mathematics of the college, said police.

Locals have caught red handed one of the miscreants while fleeing from the scene after hacking the teacher at 4:30pm on Wednesday, said an eyewitness Sobhan Munshi.

Three assailants carried out attack on Ripon Chakrabarty with sharp weapons at his rented house at city's College Gate area and tried to flee the scene, he added.

The detainee was identified as Golam Faizullah, son of Golam Faruk, hailed from Dighiapara village of Chapainawabganj district. And he is now at custody in Madaripur sadar police station, said Madaripur Additional Superintendent of Police (In-Charge) Uttam Kumar Pal.

The seriously injured teacher was rushed to Madaripur Sadar Hospital. Later, he was shifted to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
