Islamic University assures BCL leaders of jobs

RTNN News Desk: Job aspirants of ruling Awami League’s student front Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have withdrawn their agitation following the assurance from the authorities of the Kushtia Islamic University.

They made the announcement of withdrawing their agitation after a meeting with the university authorities on Wednesday.

Former leaders and activists of BCL’s university unit locked the administration building demanding jobs in the post of officer and employees at the university administration.

They also declared indefinite transport strike on the campus to press home for their demand.

Sources in the university said, the BCL’s job aspirants held meeting with the university vice chancellor professor Abdul Hakim Sarker. In the meeting, the job aspirants demanded that the university should not appoint any employees from BNP-Jamaat and suspend the recruitment process at economics, statistics and law departments.

Shortly after the meeting, the BCL’s job aspirants unlocked the administrative building and withdrew the transport strike on Tuesday evening.

Talking to media, the IU VC, Abdul Hakim, said that the recruitment boards of the three departments have been suspended in line with the demands of the job aspirants for the sake of keeping a congenial atmosphere in the university.

The VC said he assured the BCL’s job aspirants of accepting their demand of appointing them in different administrative posts in the university.
