BAU students asked to vacate halls over BCL clash

RTNN News Desk: The authority of Bangladesh Agriculture University (BAU) has asked the students to vacate their dormitories following a clash between two groups of Chhatra League activists on the campus on Tuesday night.

Male students have been asked to leave their halls by 8am Wednesday and female ones by 10am.

Confirming media about the hall vacate order, Kotwali Model thana OC Quamrul Islam that most of the students have already left the varsity due to the vacation. “The remaining students have been asked to leave the halls by 10am on Wednesday to avoid fresh unrest on the campus,” he added.

Supporters of BAU unit BCL president and district unit BCL president locked in a series of clashes from Tuesday evening till 11:30pm on the BAU campus that left six leaders and activists injured.

BAU unit BCL general secretary Saiful and organizing secretary Mahir Shahriar were among the injured.
Additional police have been deployed on the campus.
