Japan to provide US$ 28,381 for BKSP to improve Judu facilities

RTNN News Desk: Japan has decided to donate US$28,381 to Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP) to improve their Judo facilities, which is a typical Japanese martial arts and one of the Olympic sports.

Japanese Ambassador in Dhaka Shiro Sadoshima and BKSP Director General (DG) Brig Gen M Emadul Haque signed the grant contract for the project at the Embassy of Japan on Sunday.

The amount was made available for this project under the scheme of Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots Project (GCGP), said a media release issued by Japanese Embassy in Dhaka.

Ambassador Sadoshima expressed his satisfaction for being able to contribute to this project as the Japanese government is currently promoting ‘Sport For Tomorrow Programme’ which aims to promote the Olympic movement and sound upbringing of children.

The Ambassador also stressed the importance of cultural and sports exchange between the two nations in addition to strengthening traditionally important relations in trade and economic development sectors in order to bring our bilateral relationship to the next level of comprehensive partnership.

Emadul Haque expressed gratitude for the people of Japan and said he is immensely pleased to be able to renew and upgrade the Judo facilities so that promising Bangladeshi talents can develop their maximum potential.
